Fantastic Fall Resources

Fantastic Fall Resources

September 11, 2023

As summer ends, we are getting into school routines, taking one last vacation, and finalizing plans for the Autumn season. The Library has everything you need for a great Fall!

Educators can take advantage of resources like Educator Support Services, which provides an overview of all the tools offered by the Library. We can help find materials to support lesson plans, provide reading recommendations and book talks, or even provide demonstrations of our resources and catalog. Don’t forget Scholastic Teachables, which provides printable worksheets and lessons, along with much more.

The resources for parents and caregivers are long and varied. If your little one is starting preschool, or you want to get a head start for kindergarten, sign up for 1000 Books before Kindergarten. If you participated in the Summer Library Program, you might be familiar with the free Beanstack app, which allows you to log the child’s reading. The great part about this free app is that there is no deadline – you’re free to move at your own pace. Readers who finish the program receive a certificate and are entered into a prize drawing.

The Library’s free online Tutoring resources are aimed at students from kindergarten through college. These tools can help with online job applications, job profile creation, homework assistance, and writing support. Adults who want to earn their high school diploma can do so through Excel Adult High School.

But Fall isn’t just about getting back to school. The Library also has programs and events to get your Fall season off to a fun start. Find your interests in some of our special services and participate in the many ongoing events: SquareOne Small Business for entrepreneurs, Story Center for writers and storytellers, the Culinary Center for cooking endeavors, Midwest Genealogy Center for discovering the past, as well as Book Groups, Storytimes, Technology Classes, and dozens of events for adultschildren, and young adults.
