Let MCPL Bring the Library Right to Your Door!

Library-By-Mail staff

January 28, 2022

Are you unable to leave your home due to health or mobility issues and in need of library services? Residents within Mid-Continent Public Library’s three-county service area may qualify for MCPL’s Library-By-Mail service! Library materials will be delivered right to your door. To get started, fill out an application online, or print an application and mail it to us.

After acceptance into the program, Library-By-Mail customers are able to check out 20 items at a time. These materials are mailed out in a special green bag, directly through the U.S. Postal Service, and then returned the same way. All of this is at no charge to the customer!

Our dedicated Library-By-Mail team consists of three members:

  • Michael, Adult Outreach Librarian, has been with Library for 33 years. He enjoys answering reference questions, selecting movies, fiction and nonfiction titles, and feels like Santa Claus, creating packages that bring joy to lonely and isolated people.
  • Michelle, Adult Outreach Librarian, has been with MCPL for 10 years. She’s happy to tailor your material choices to your needs—whether you would like specific titles, or just want to be surprised with a variety according to your favorite genres!
  • Doe, Library-By-Mail Customer Service Associate, has been with the system for seven years. She works hard to make sure our many shipments are packaged and processed on time.

Check out Library-By-Mail today for yourself or for a loved one in need!
