Are you afraid of the dark? Do you want to learn how to make things go bump in the night? What are the elements of terror? In this workshop, storyteller Alton Takiyama-Chung will discuss story structure for jump tales, audience participation, the building of suspense, and the use of humor to allow the audience to breathe to increase the terror. Participants will also learn the differences between telling scary stories to children, teens, and adults. This class is part of the Oral Storytelling Certificate Program as a Storytelling Elective. Program registration will close 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Participants will be emailed a Zoom access code 30 minutes before the start of the program, so please include your email in the registration. Please note: You must sign into the room prior to the start of the program. Admittance to the classroom will close five minutes after the program's start time. Space is limited.
