In this three-part workshop, award-winning author and editor Natalie C. Parker will teach young creators how to create dynamic, original stories from the ground up.
Part 3: Story Building
Participants will learn about the 9-Box Method of outlining a story using well known examples such as The Little Mermaid or other fairytales. After the explanation and demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups to practice on other well-known stories. At the end, Parker will answer questions about the publishing industry, or any other questions participants might have about making writing a career.
Please note that this series of workshops is intended for teen writers, not adult writers of teen or young adult literature. Registration is required and space is limited. Registrants will be enrolled in and expected to attend all three parts. Please note this program will take place both in person in the Story Center historic home and virtually via Zoom.
