Visiting Independence, MO

The Midwest Genealogy Center is located in historic Independence, MO about 15 minutes east of downtown Kansas City. The Center is conveniently located just north of I-70 on Lee’s Summit Road and is a short drive to the Truman Sports Complex that is home to Kauffman and Arrowhead Stadiums.

When you’re ready to take a break from your research, you can retrace the steps of President Harry S. Truman at the Harry S Truman National Historic Site, the Independence Square, and other stops in town (his Presidential Library and Museum will be closed for renovation for one year beginning July 21, 2019).
