No Worries for Finals and End-of-Year Projects

The school year is winding down. Did you finish your last research paper? Do you have some big reports or projects due before the end of the year? Are you waiting until the last minute to complete them?

If you’re striving to have mostly As on that report card, let me give you some easy, helpful resources! First, do you have a Library card? If not, visit your local MCPL branch or sign up online.

Now, let me break things down by subject:

• Social Studies Class – Daily Life through History: Whether it be Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, the Industrial Revolution, or the European Renaissance, each time period offers up hypotheses for a variety of topics, projects, and in-depth looks at food, attire, and the culture overall. This tool is very helpful for those who left their history books at school over spring break.

• Math Class – Peterson’s Test and Career Prep: If you are having trouble with math, or any subject, Peterson’s has multiple practice tests for all of these topics. There’s no grade, but tons of free chances to practice before the big exam.
   
• English and Language Arts Class – Book Connections: Did you forget about your Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, or other required reading that you have a big test for? If the Library doesn’t have a copy available, check out Book Connections. There are always copies available here, plus there are video clips, book trailers, and insights for every book that will surely impress your teachers.
   
• Overall Help – When all else fails, check out Live Homework Help from Tutor.com. Whether you have a research paper you would like edited, need step-by-step help walking through a math problem, or have other homework you need assistance with, Tutor.com can help you. From noon to midnight, seven days a week, a tutor (via live video or instant message) is available to help you. They will communicate with you on every topic (in English and Spanish). Tutor.com has instructors available for every age and grade, including adults.

Additionally, MCPL has a ton of test prep books if you need a physical book to help you, including ACT, SAT, and HiSet, among others.
