An Evening with Kashmir Hill

An Evening with Kashmir Hill

June 5, 2024

Join us Thursday, June 20 as we welcome author and journalist for The New York Times Kashmir Hill to MCPL!

Over the last decade she has written for publications such as Forbes, Gizmodo, and The Washington Post. She joined the team at The New York Times in 2019 and released her first book, Your Face Belongs to Us, in 2023.

As a tech reporter, Hill writes about the impact of technology advancements on our lives, with a particular focus on data collection and privacy issues. Notable pieces have highlighted the influence of tech giants over our personal data and investigation into Clearview AI, a surveillance company that has created a facial recognition search engine and sold it to American and international law enforcement agencies.

Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, privacy advocate, or simply curious about the digital world we live in, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear from Kashmir Hill.

Attendees will receive a copy of Kashmir’s book, Your Face Belongs to Us, while supplies last, with a book signing immediately following the event. To register, click here or speak to a staff member at your local branch.
