Are you a student who needs to work on a computer away from the classroom? Do you need a computer to take part in telehealth visits, pay your bills, make Zoom calls, or apply for jobs? If so, MCPL is now offering Chromebook To Go, a service that allows customers to check out a Chromebook where and when they need it.
Use a Chromebook To Go device to check your email, access online Library resources that help with homework, browse websites, conduct research, stream music or movies, and more!
Please note: MCPL Chromebook To Go devices require internet access to use online features. If you do not have internet access, you can also check out the Wi-Fi To Go service.
How to Borrow a Chromebook To Go
-
Visit the online catalog to place a hold on a Chromebook To Go and have it delivered to the Library location of your choice. Or contact your local branch to help you place a hold.
-
When you receive notice that your Chromebook To Go is ready at your selected location, pick up your device in branch or via curbside pickup.
-
Once you have the Chromebook, follow the instructions included to use your device.
-
You have 14 days to use the Chromebook device. If there are no holds on the device (other customers waiting to use it), you may renew your checkout two more times, for a total of up to six weeks.
-
When you’re done, return the kit to any MCPL branch. Kits cannot be placed in the drop boxes.
-
There is no cost to you to use the device.
