The MCPL Culinary Center was developed by the Library after years of collecting data and information about the needs of our customers and feedback from our community. We discovered there was a massive demand for cookbooks and food-related programs, and Library staff had connected with many startup food businesses who needed a space to launch.
Seeing that need and, because food connects to so many aspects of our lives, - from health, business, and the environment, to family, history, and culture, - we knew developing a culinary destination library would be a tremendous asset and help MCPL continue achieving our mission of enriching our customers’ lives with and through food.
Our vision is not only to have entertaining culinary programs, but to inspire customers, through food, to seek information, be curious, innovate, and use food as a gateway for personal enrichment.
We invite anyone interested in food or food business to reach out, join a program, talk about their business ideas, join a culinary book group, or to simply stop by to see what’s cooking!
